X-RAY RUNS: Apply for Beamtime

2017  Nov 1 - Dec 21

2018  Feb 7 - Apr 3
2018  Proposal/BTR deadline: 12/1/17

2018  Apr 11 - Jun 4
2018  Proposal/BTR deadline: 2/1/18

June will be a busy time as our annual CHESS User’s Meeting June 7th 2016 kicks off a series of six science workshops. The goal of these workshops is to identify science communities needing unique state-of-the-art high-energy, high-flux x-ray beamline capabilities. We hope to engage users about forefront science questions they will need to solve, and how high-performance third-generation capabilities at CHESS can provide solutions.

In the months to come we will update our users on plans as they develop and get vetted by our user and science advisory committees. The science topics cover the gamut from fundamental materials science through biological and engineering materials, with techniques ranging from diffraction and scattering to scanning spectroscopies to wide-dynamic-range diffuse scattering.

The dates and the tentative titles are:

June 08-09: New Industrial and Scientific Opportunities for Structural Materials: Data, Modeling, Manufacturing
June 08-09: Biomolecules in Motion
June 13-14: Materials Design and Processing from Nano to Mesoscale
June 20-21: Hard X-ray Spectroscopies and Imaging
June 27-28: D3: Defects, Distortions, and Dynamics in complex materials

Rev: 03/28/16
